Turmeric works great, but it is pretty temporary, at least in my
experience. I am not sure how you would be able to get much of a
blonde shimmer with black hair, however. Perhaps I am not creative
enough to imagine this. But anyway, I have had success getting
golden colors from turmeric and chamomile, but I should add that my
hair is a light shade. Perhaps someone with darker hair could offer
some advice. Godd luck!
