: hello everyone. just thought I'd drop a note to say that today I
: tried Catherine's Henna on my medium brown hair. although I have
: been chemically dyeing my hair for 10 years, I have since decided I
: no longer want to go that route. I was/am a bit nervous of the henna
: coloring though, it seemed to have dried out my hair and the color is
: orangy-red, not the shiney, burghandy color I was hoping for. I used
: green tea/henna mixture, let sit overnight and left on hair about 2
: hours. my last chemical dye-job was about 2 months ago. my question
: is this, how soon before I can henna again, and what should I use for
: mixture to hopefully get a much richer, darker and softer
: color/feel? Thanks for all the useful information I've read so far,
: I will continue to monitor this site and experiment with color.

If you just hennaed today and it's orange, that's normal. It'll get browner over the
next few days.

I'm not sure what you mean by "dried out my hair". Does it feel rough or sticky?
That could be damage from chemicals you previously used, or it could be henna
dust. If it's damage, keep hennaing, it'll get better. If it's henna dust, put some
jojoba oil in your hair and comb it out, and you'll get red stuff on the comb. I add
jojoba to my mix just before putting it on my hair; that helps a lot.
