Henna on black hair

Hi, I used henna for the first time yesterday on my black hair. I'm
asian and I was hoping for red highlights but I can only see a tiny
difference in colour. I kept it on for 2 hours, will it be better in
colour if i left it longer?

Would it make a difference if I retried it today for a bit longer?
