Can Lemon juice in Henna harm the hair?

I have used Henna on my hair since the last 12 years and have mixed
the henna with Black tea water and lemon juice.
However I noticed I was greying prematurely and so quit the henna
thinking that maybe the lemon juice was causing the grey (no one else
in my family is prematurely grey)
While surfing I stumbled on to this website and I feel that there are
a lot of people in the forum who would be able to guide me.
Can lemon juice possibly cause this kind of reation?
