I'm not hennaing at the moment, but I did for a couple of years and
still haven't grown it all out (it's long enough to sit on). I've
always washed my hair twice a week, preferably every three days. Four
is sort of manageable, five is definitely pushing it. I've been doing
herb and vinegar rinses for the last few years, and they're marvellous
things, make a huge difference. Two herbal teabags (e.g. chamomile
and horsetail), 1 tsp cider vinegar, and about a dozen drops of
essential oils, say rosemary and lemon, or cedarwood and patchouli,
that sort of thing. I've tried using more vinegar but it didn't work
out well, and at least this amount is economical and doesn't smell of
vinegar in the slightest. I am famed for my beautiful hair and one of
my friends is always raving on about the smell!
