stained scalp

hi,
Is there a way to reduce the staining of the scalp? When recently
hennaed, my scalp is visibly stained, and I feel self consious about
it. I manage to not stain around my hairline by putting a bit of baby
oil on, but have found that if I do that to the part in my hair, that
the henna doesn't dye the hair where it covers. Aside from wearing a
scarf for a couple of days, are there any other suggestions?
