Just wanted to update you on my now week old henna'ed hair!
I can honestly say that it has mellowed quite nicely. And if you
think you can live with something in the "Irish Setter" range of red,
then hopefully that is what you'll get.

I still tend to think of it as a very deep rust, however my more
diplomatic best friend calls it a deep chestnut; if you have ever
seen a real chestnut (they are called "conkers" here do you have the
same?!) my hair really is that colour -- very intense orangey brown.

No one would have ever disputed that I was redhead before henna, but
for some reason with my natural colour, I was able to wear almost any
colour but now I definitely have to stick with autumn colours. I
don't wear makeup often but I would now have to rethink those colours
too. Its kind of strange! Can you tell I have never coloured my hair
or done anything to alter my appearance before, lol!

I forgot to tell you I used a mix of body art henna (it was indian
henna for what its worth) with red wine as the only liquid; I also
added about 15g cloves to 100g henna. That was it. My hair is
naturally curly and very porous, so I only left it on for an hour
(from the time I started to put it into my hair to the time I rinsed
it out)

I think you'll find that with the good henna you get LOTS of dye
release, and it should mean more colour. Good luck!
