I, too, am pretty new at this, but I can tell you that good quality
henna is the best idea. I mixed mine with grape juice, strong
raspberry zinger tea, cloves, and tea tree oil. It came out a
beautiful rich auburn (I started out medium brown). I also left it
on for about 4 hours, after I got done cleaning everything up and
got to my room I started timing. The touch of blond in my hair
turned strawberry blond, but it's not carrot orange (like it was
right after I got out of the shower) anymore. Good luck, and do
lots of strand tests before you decide what's the best for you.
