Eureka! Color resistant grey....

First! Thank you one and all for sharing your experiments both good and bad. After a hair disaster (extreme breakage and falling out) my formerly waist-length med/dark brown hair is now barely below bra strap level. I was EXTREMELY desperate! This site saved me. Weeks of reading caught me up on everything henna. I took the plunge. My roots are about 75% grey 25% dk brn. I decided I wanted my grey roots to be hendigoed? to a blonde while keeping the dk brn. I tried all the glosses, cassia, chamomile with no luck. Hairdressers in the past had said my hair was very resistant to color. So with much experimentation (I won't detail it) Found a "formula" that seems to work. Its based on some one of the "formulas" I read here but timing and concentration of ingrediants is slightly different and it does make a difference! I would love to "give back" so if it helps someone, GREAT!
2 packets of unflavored gelatin
6 ounces of boiling water
2 Tbs of Henna (from Catherine)
2 Tbs of Indigo " "
1 plastic applicator bottle
1 shower cap
Pour boiling water into applicator bottle. Add gelatin making sure all of gelatin dissolves (this can take a little bit of time). Add Henna and Indigo, and stir until smooth. Let set 1.5 hours. Apply to clean dry hair. Leave on for 30 min.
I was left with a soft gold on my grey and no noticeable change to the brown. Very long post, sorry, hope it helps:)

Wow that's great!I read a similar post describing he same technique, only it didn't include gelatin. What is he pupose of the gelatin? Thanks.

The gelatin is a cheap thickener, lessens the amount of drips.
